Digeddi Wildlife Camping - Carvans on the River Wye

We have been running our family business at Digeddi for over 7 years. When we bought it you could not keep a horse in a paddock as all the fencing was diabolical!! After 4000 stakes and rails and lots of work later we now have grazing for some 40 horses all safe and secure in their paddocks. We have DIY liveries with them all able to enjoy our farm ride which Pete keeps extending!! They can enjoy the horses splashing about in the river, and we have even found a special spot deep enough to swim them.

We have 2 arenas which Pete painstakingly made himself so the liveries can train their horses and, of course, I can use for my training of my dressage horses. My star horse is a Lusitano Stallion (Portuguese  breed) which we found in Madrid, Spain. I compete at advanced dressage on him regularly and also we have an Andalusian Stallion who is just starting out up the ladder .

Digeddi Wildlife Camping - Livery Yard

JD, our son, is the main man for maintenance at livery yard and land work. He is the friendly guy who brings firewood for the campers to have open fires in evening down by the river . JD spends all winter collecting wood from our land, especially after the floods, for the campers during the summer months. JD & Pete are regularly maintaining and upgrading the facilities at Digeddi, always coming up with inventive ways to make use of the natural recources.

Jaz, our daughter, has just left school and has 2 of her own young home bred horses who are just starting out in their jumping and dressage careers. Jaz also brings on all our youngstock, breaking them in and riding them. They are all out of our mares and by our Drum Horse, Jubilee Ted who is the only registered Drum Horse in the UK. Jaz also has to help me to service the Glamping units when we are busy with quick change overs .

Digeddi Wildlife Camping - Opening Digeddi

In 2015 we decided to open our River side location to our campers and they adore it . Digeddi enjoys 17 acres of river frontage ground totally unspoilt - we even have a shingle beach which is great for evening bbq’s and open fires while watching the sun go down. On this amazing site we have lots of wildlife, including swans, ducks, egrets, otters, red kites, and herons. If you're really quiet it's possible to watch them with their babies (in season).

We have a top camping field with fantastic river views well suited to families with younger children. We also have Hire a Canoe launch from our site so its easy to book and enjoy canoeing right on your Tent Step!!!! You can also bring your own canoe as we have a pick up service which JD organises. Pete has on going ideas for new units - something a bit different so watch this space! He is so imaginative with his work. The shower he built is said to be one of the best showers one of our guest have ever been in! So as you can see we are all involved in some way of making Digeddi Camping a great experience for you. There is always lots going on in the horse world to watch including foaling, training, trotting racing and competitions too.
