We have been running our family business at Digeddi for over 7 years. When we bought it you could not keep a horse in a paddock as all the fencing was diabolical!! After 4000 stakes and rails and lots of work later we now have grazing for some 40 horses all safe and secure in their paddocks. We have DIY liveries with them all able to enjoy our farm ride which Pete keeps extending!! They can enjoy the horses splashing about in the river, and we have even found a special spot deep enough to swim them.
We have 2 arenas which Pete painstakingly made himself so the liveries can train their horses and, of course, I can use for my training of my dressage horses. My star horse is a Lusitano Stallion (Portuguese breed) which we found in Madrid, Spain. I compete at advanced dressage on him regularly and also we have an Andalusian Stallion who is just starting out up the ladder .
JD, our son, is the main man for maintenance at livery yard and land work. He is the friendly guy who brings firewood for the campers to have open fires in evening down by the river . JD spends all winter collecting wood from our land, especially after the floods, for the campers during the summer months. JD & Pete are regularly maintaining and upgrading the facilities at Digeddi, always coming up with inventive ways to make use of the natural recources.
Jaz, our daughter, has just left school and has 2 of her own young home bred horses who are just starting out in their jumping and dressage careers. Jaz also brings on all our youngstock, breaking them in and riding them. They are all out of our mares and by our Drum Horse, Jubilee Ted who is the only registered Drum Horse in the UK. Jaz also has to help me to service the Glamping units when we are busy with quick change overs .
